Perry Rhodan – Pax Terra

サルベージの一環で、こいつも改めて紹介しておこう。
『Perry Rhodan – Pax Terra』は、シリーズ35周年企画として1996年12月にリリースされた音楽CD。一種の“スペースオペラ”(ヴァンスかw)として構想された、全7曲。

クリストファー・フランケ(Christopher Franke)は、ドイツの電子音楽グループ、タンジェリン・ドリームの中心メンバーのひとりだった(1987年脱退)。ソロになってからは、SF映画・TVシリーズの音楽を多く担当しており、この頃すでに『ユニバーサル・ソルジャー』『バビロン5』『トミーノッカーズ』などの作品があった。
プロデュースのロターミッヒはバンド時代からの盟友らしいが、SF関連だと2012年に『ブレードランナー』の新録サントラの制作・演奏を担当しているのが有名みたい。

で、1996年というと、トルカンダー・サイクルの中盤で、せっせと『無限架橋』の要約を書いていた記憶があるのだが、このCDを購入した経緯が思い出せない(笑)　たぶんマガンにお願いして、rlmdi.略称“トラギャ”ことTransgalaxis社からの輸入に混ぜてもらったんじゃないかと思うのだが……さすがにマガンもおぼえていないだろう、気づけばそろそろ四半世紀前である。

追記：マガンにも「うちじゃないと思うですよ？」と言われてしまった……。うーん、ひょっとしてHMVが輸入販売してたのかもしれない。当時Keanのアルバム再発以外にも、なんか通販で購入した気がするし(あやふや)

このCDと、1曲目の特殊形状CDのリプレスはおこなわれなかったが、現在ではApple Musicなどにも登録されているし、amazonには中古の通販もあった。youtubeにも動画があるので、体験するのは簡単である。便利になったなあ……(年寄りの感想)

歌詞対訳は、だいぶん意訳寄り。いや、英語だし?(爆)　……昔聞いた時は、“メジャー・ペリー・R”かなあ、なんで肝心のとこ略字？　とか思ったものだ(汗)　その後、一部のサイトで「フランケの曲」として歌詞が掲載されたときは凹んだorz
余談だが、フランケはインタヴューの際、「忙しくて35年分の全部を読んだわけじゃないけど、ボクは最初期の熱心なファンのひとりだよ」と述べている。そっかー、53年生まれだしにゃあ。
